Tifa Anorion was hunting in the forest outside Bravil. She hadn't eaten in at least a day, because she hadn't yet found anything larger than a songbird. Where are all the squirrels and rabbits? she thought. This forest is usually teeming with them. Then, she heard men chattering. She followed the noise to a camp. A bandit camp, she thought. There were about nine men in the camp. One of the men was telling a few others about a recent murder he had commited. "He looked real suprised. Yeah, I stuck him with his own dagger. Huh! Priceless!" The man started laughing. Tifa was outraged by the man's pride in the foul thing he had done. She knocked an arrow to her bow and let go of the bowstring. The arrow flew true and caught the man in the throat. He gurgled and fell to the ground. The other men were looking towards the woods, and spotted Tifa. "Oi! Kill that girl!" They all ran toward her. "Uh-oh," Tifa said and ran away from them as fast as she could.

Suddenly green fletched arrows shot out of the trees. Each went down. A boy with brown hair pulled her in a tree

Tifa shook her head, casting her long, black hair out of her eyes. "Who are you?" she whispered, a liitle sharply.

Tifa took the hint. She stayed silent, while the others were looking for her.

Zeren waithed till they left before dropping out of the tree.
"kay, my horse is near by, lets go."

Zeren shrugged
"you dont have to, but genarrly rangers are here for helping others." He said "and thats a nasty bunch. ive been following them for days. youd be better off with me than them, i think." He walked over to the shot bandits and pulled his arrows out of them. he started to walk into the tres
"comin'?"

"No..." Geal thought, "He only wants you to reveal your location! Don't pay attention to that THING!!"
She pulled herself to her feet and staggered off deeper into the forest.

No response. Cloud sighed. I didn't think she would answer me, he thought. But it didn't hurt to try. He decided that Geal would probably come back later, if she thought he was no longer here. He decided to hide in the bushes when the sun rose. For now, he would sleep.

Zeren led her through the trees to a brown dappled horse. He swung on and offered a hand to her, out of politness.

Tifa refused the hand and got on the horse with no trouble. "Where are we going?" she asked. It probably would have been a good idea to ask him that before I got on the horse, she thought.

Zereen gestured in a genarel direction
"that way, tword where the hermit lives then if you want i can take you to the town." He nudged the horse into a walk. Leaning forward he wishpered in it ear. Then sitting up he looked through the trees
"we go softly so the bandits wont hear."

"Okay. I'm ready to go." Tifa hadn't been to a city in a few weeks. It would be nice to have a cmfortable place to sleep.
