Willow let out another string of curse words, rounding the corner of the tunnel. Maybe it was still here...Please, she thought.
"VINCENT!" she bellowed. "Quit running like a coward! Are you scared of a little half-elf that's half-dead to begin with?" He could hear her, she knew he could. She continued to taunt him. Let it draw him out. Please.

Vincent laughed as he teleported himself out of the tunnel. They still hadn't figured it out. When, he just disappeared, he had actually teleported himself somewhere else. He didn't care about the half-elf's threats.
Kadaj said, "Well, I guess that means you don't know. I said he's not here, Willow."

She whirled on him, eyes blazing. "You don't get it," she spat angrily, and stomped back past him. "He can't keep running forever, eventually, that slimey little toad is going to have to show himself. I need that orb." The half-elf found the niches in the wall and climbed back up to the surface. "All this running around is just killing me faster." She cursed Kirian, she cursed Vincent, she cursed herself for being so stupid. "I hate vampires," she muttered, placing one hand to her stomach where Dasuke's knife had run her through.

Kadaj didn't seem to care about that last comment. After all, it wasn't the first time he had heard that. He was more interested in what she had revealed. What's this orb she's talking about?, she thought. She must have some kind of deadly disease that's killing her, and she obviously knows about it. He followed her to the surface and studied her carefully. "What's this vampire of yours doing to you or having you do? You didn't do something for Vincent because you needed money. What's going on?"

Willow stood facing the trees, letting the wind brush against her face. There was a faint rustle as Kadaj reappeared above the surface, standing just behind her. She was breathing shallowly. Her tongue rasped over her dry lips. The half-elf might as well tell him the whole story.
"I have a....disease...in my head." The wind sent goosebumps up her arms and the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. She sighed. "The vampire I'm working for took some of my blood a few years ago. He could taste the disease I didn't even know I had. Kirian gave me six, maybe seven years." Willow shut her eyes for a beat.
"He offered me a chance to keep going. One of Vincent's...minions, he took an orb of ever-burning fire Kirian had made years ago, and Kirian wants it back. If I can get it, he'd change me into a vampire, so I could keep living. And if Vincent keeps moving, I won't get it. That stab in the chest almost did me in anyway."

Kadaj gave Willow a slightly sympathetic look. "It seems like Vincent has alot of people after him. I'll help you get it back from him, Willow. Any information you can give me will be helpful."

Willow felt like hugging him. She allowed a pained smile to cross her haggard features, and she nodded, angling her body to look back at him. "I'll see what I can remember."
"Vincent's quarters in the castle...There are two entrances. The one the guards use, and the one Vincent uses." She blinked hard, the memories returning. "I don't know where the second entrance comes out, but the guard's entrance is down in an old cellar, at least that's what the castle lord says it is..." Willow sighed. "I've never been to the last place. I can't help you."

Kadaj returned a faint smile. "Come with me back to the healer's house. We'll meet Cloud there and he'll come with us to the castle. We'll settle this there." Kadaj started to walk in the direction of the house. Hesitantly, he stopped and turned around. "You'll be okay, Willow. I'll make sure of that." He continued on, motioning for Willow to follow.
Back at the healer's house, Tifa was sleeping. Cloud took advantage of the daylight to sleep too, but outside. He had grown paranoid of someone putting a knife in him, and though the healer had saved Tifa, it was obvious that she didn't like him one bit. As usual, one of is eyes remained open.

When Willow returned with the horse, Kadaj was still by the area, and nodding wordlessly, she clicked her tongue and turned the horse back to the healer's house. It wouldn't be long, she thought.
Willow?
For once, she ignored Kirian's piercing voice in her head. The horse broke into a swift canter that Kadaj could easily keep up with.

When Kadaj and Willow got back to the healer's house, they found Cloud still asleep. Kadaj walked over to him. "Napping, are we?" Cloud had jumped up and had his sword half-out of his sheath before Kadaj had ended his sentence, a habit by now.
He breathed a sigh of relief when he was Kadaj, but his grip tightened when he saw Willow. "What was she doing?" he asked, as if she wasn't present at the time. Kadaj shrugged. "Nothing of importance. By the way, Vincent is probably at the castle. She knows where his hideout is there." Cloud's suspicion of Willow didn't waver, but he went along with it. "The castle it is then. There's still no word from Zeren. I'll be right back." Without waiting for Kadaj's approval, Cloud walked back to the healer's house, where he saw Tifa.
Though he didn't want to, he woke her up. "I'm sorry to disturb you Tifa, but we're going to a possible hideout of Vincent's. I'm not sure when we'll be back. Goodbye." When he was half-way out the door, she called back. "Wait, Cloud. I'm going with you." Cloud turned around to protest and saw Tifa trying to get out of her bed. "No, Tifa, not this time. You aren't even fully healed yet. When Zeren gets back, he can take you if you're okay then." Tifa stood, with strength an determination in her eyes. "Cloud, I'm going."
Then, she said, in a quiet tone, "I'd like to pay Vincent back for what he did to me." Tears gathered in her eyes. Cloud put a hand on her shoulder and looked her in the eye. "Tifa, vengeance isn't going to erase that memory from your mind. It won't give you any compensation for what he did to you. Be careful about keeping a boundary between him and you Tifa. If you cross that boundary, you're just as bad as he is." Tifa only said, "I'm going."

"I'm still here," she said bitterly, glaring at Cloud. Hesitantly, she followed Kadaj inside, feeling a tie to him, like she'd once felt with Kirian. Before he'd become a back-stabbing traitor. The half-elf entered the healer's hut in time to hear Tifa's comments.
"Sorry, but there's a waiting list for the vengeance," Willow muttered, brushing her locks of silver hair out of her pale, green-grey eyes, which were dark with irritation.
Since when are your thoughts so morbid, Kirian directed to her, sounded almost amused. Willow pointedly ignored him, putting up a mental wall to block the vampire's voice. Forget him. She felt him probing around her wall, trying to find a crack, and after a beat, the pressure faded, and Willow returned her attention to Tifa.
ooc- Hey Cloud, you wouldn't mind seperating your chat into paragraphs, would ya? Makes it easier to read.

((sure, I didn't realize it was so long. that better?))
Cloud took the keeper from a pocket. "Zeren, what'd you find out about the castle lord? We're headed there now." Hesitantly, he added, "Tifa wants to go." He said it in a way that seemed to request Zeren to object profusely. Cloud didn't think Tifa was ready.
Kadaj looked at Tifa, determined as ever. She did resemble her. If Tifa had blonde hair, there would be practically no difference in their appearances. He had seen that same look before -- long ago. "Let her go, Cloud," he said suddenly.

Ehh, not much. He seems to keep put of the way. But if the password dosnt work, or if he has been warned, he'll take a bribe if its big enough. Zeren said. Tifa? Hum, I guess we cant stop her, she should be carefull though. I'll meet you there, i might be late though

"Okay. We'll see you there." Cloud put the keeper away and turned to Tifa. "You can go, but it's against my better judgement. I would feel better if you stayed here, Tifa." Tifa replied for the umpteenth time, "I'm going." Cloud sighed. Nothing and no one was going to stop her. "Okay, I guess we better get going then. Everyone ready?" Tifa nodded wordlessly and Kadaj let his look speak for him.
