Tifa nodded. "Thank you." Cloud watched her eat. With so, trouble, he pushed back his own hunger. He also remembered that it had been days since he had slept. He was suddenly very weary, but he didn't want to leave Tifa yet. In between bites of food, she looked up at him. "So, Cloud, what did happen?" The question caught him offguard. "He..... he escaped Tifa. I'm sorry. On minute, I was a few feet away from him. The next, he was gone. He vanished, without a trace. The two henchman that brought you to him are dead. I'm sorry we couldn't catch him. Like I said, though, we're working on it. We have a pretty good idea where he is now." Tifa said nothing.

The hole in the ground was pretty self-explanatory. The entrance was a widened crevice in the rock, hidden by shrubs and thick grass, and Willow spotted the single guard after a brief scouting. She'd left the horse nearly a quarter mile back in the trees, doubting it would still be there when she returned.
Kirian...I'm going for it.
Alright. I'm not too far, he replied, curiousity plaguing his thoughts. Willow pulled her knife from it's sheath and crept up from behind. You'd think there would be more than this, she thought, coiling to spring. A beat later, a second guard made his appearance. Willow ran the first through and whirled on the other, eyes narrowed.

Tifa finished her food and set it aside. She quickly fell asleep, as Cloud sat on the floor beside her bed and dozed off himself.
Before Willow, or the remaining guard could do anything, he beheaded the guard. As his head fell to the ground with a Thump!, Kadaj let a sly smile break through at Willow. "Did you think I would let you off that easy? Let's get one thing straight: Leave Vincent alive! I don't care what you do to him, as long as you leave him alive. If he dies, I'll make you wish you'd never been born half-elf." He sheathed his katana.
Cloud woke to a blood-chilling scream. He wipped out his katana, but when he saw no one was there except for the healer, Tifa, and himself, he put it back in his sheath. He looked at Tifa. She was obviously the one who had screamed. She was still asleep but trembling violently and her screams had broken into hoarse sobs now. Cloud shouted , "Tifa! Tifa! Wake up! Tifa!" He looked up at the healer desperately.

The healer made a face and walked over, still ignoring Cloud. She studyed Tifa for a few moments and the gently shook her "Wake up." She said gently and then grabbed some herbs and started mixing them

Cloud pu his hand to her forehead. She was running a very high fever. Half-forgetting the healer's short temper with werewolves and half-not caring, he told the healer, "I'm going to get a cold, wet cloth for her." He looked around the house. Cloth wasn't his main concern. He had some spae pieces of cloth with him. He needed cold water. Luckily, he found a cloth that was used for something like this and cold water. He ran back with them to Tifa and carefully laid it on her forehead.

Willow glared at him for a beat before making for the crevice and dropping down to the hallway below. The tunnel was carved completely out of stone, and although it appeared deserted, she kept her knife at the ready.
"Half-elf has a name," she hissed, knowing he could still hear her though he was above the surface.

Kadaj dropped into the hole after her. He sniffed the air. "He's here." On cue, a man in a red cloak and golden boots materialized out of the darkness. "Where is he? Why are you here? I take it you got this location from Renardo?" Kadaj stood where he was. "That is no business of yours. Where is his sword?" When Vincent only laughed, Kadaj cleared the distance between them and held his katana blade at Vincent's neck. "I don't have as much patience as Cloud had, so you better tell me now, human!" Vincent smirked. "You speak as though you weren't one. So, werewolf, vampire..... what else is there?" He then noticed Willow. "Ah, I wondered how long it would be until you found me. Come for revenge have you?"

The healer scowled and gave the mixture of herbs to Tifa. "I said dont talk to me, werewolf."

Cloud didn't say anything more but watched Tifa. She woke up, still shaking. "Are you remembering?" Cloud said softly. Tifa nodded. "I remember being tied to a chair. One of Vincent's henchman gave me a look before they. It scared me. Then, Vincent......." She stopped talking as tears came down her eyes. Unshed tears showed again in Cloud's eyes. "I'm..... I'm sorry Tifa," Cloud practically whispered to Tifa. "I should have been there, at Kakrikya's. Maybe if I had, you would have never been hurt."

Tifa shook her head. "No Cloud, it isn't your fault. By the way, did you get Geal?" Cloud smiled. He knew that Tifa was trying not to think about what had happened. "Yes. She's safe, and she and Kakrikya made up. Geal doesn't hate her sister anymore." Tifa smiled, too. "That's great." Cloud's smile eventually vanished. "Is there anything I can do Tifa?" She replied, "Please, just end this as soon as you can." Cloud nodded. "That, I'll do." He started to wonder where Zeren was. Of course, he had no idea where Zeren had gone. It could be days before they heard anything from him.

"That. And something missing from a friend of mind." The memory flooded to the front of her mind as Kirian sent it, and she spoke the echos of his. "An orb, of eternal flame, glowing yellow. I believe you 'borrowed' it from a friend of mine, another vampire." She tilted her head to one side, looking emotionless. "Does it sound familiar?" Willow asked. "If you give it to me now, I won't harm you or anymore. I'll leave you and the vampire to...." She paused, a smile flitting to her face. "Work things out."

He laughed again. "Fools. You haven't figured it out yet, have you?" Kadaj ignored him. He raised his katana blade to swipe at Vincent's real arm, when Vincent vanished. Kadaj stopped and sniffed the air again. He cursed and said, "He's gone."

"Damnit!" Willow slammed a fist into the wall. "I don't have time for this! I'll be-" She broke off, staring wordlessly at Kadaj. Kirian. "I need him," she murmured, and sheathing her blade, stalked angrily down the hall. "VINCENT! GIVE IT BACK!" she was shouting, her voice strangely metallic and bouncing off the walls. She had to get the orb, it was her end of the bargain. Once she was dead, Kirian could come and get it anyway, he knew that, but he'd given her a chance to buy her own life, and she couldn't screw it up. The half-elf had maybe a year, much less.

Kadaj followed her. "Where did he go?" He knew there were two definite possiblities- the castle and the cave. There were probably more though. He didn't have the time to look in every nook and cranny he could think of. Every second gone by when Cloud didn't have his sword was another second someone could discover the secrets that the pyramid held.
