"I do not know his name. I was merely to listen, find out what I could." Willow shrugged, ignoring the weapon that Tifa was nearing to her bow. "The man paid me in gold coins and favors. I am to report later, and contact him by a raven. And I don't have the bird with me, if you're wondering."

Kakrikya let out a loud laugh.
"My dear!" she said, "We haven't made the transaction yet! You don't have to tell the truth until I give you your herbs!"

Zeren laughed and leaned back in his chair "be nice for now, Tifa."

Tifa reluctantly put down her bow, but kept her arrow out. She didn't say anything.

"If you'll just sign this," Kakrikya said, presenting a scroll with the terms of their agreement, "I had my servant spirit whip this up for me."

Outside, carefully hidden in the shadows, was a group of four assassins. One of them, a thin, fairly short man, spoke to another, so that only the two could hear. "Do you think she'll talk, Dasuke?"

Zeren was watching Willow carefully. Though he didnt trust her, she was innocent untill proven otherwise. He noted how she was hesitant about agreeing to the deal, even though she didnt show it, he could see it in her eyes. "hey, Tifa, how about you and me move your parents to the back." He said over loudly

Tifa nodded, catching what Zeren meant. "Good idea." She woke her parents up, half-way at least and herded them into the back room, where they resumed their calm sleeping. "What do you think about her Zeren? I think she's working for that thief Cloud was talking about."

"Maby, but we cant be sure." Zeren said frowning. "Once she sighns that thing with Kakrikya we can ask. I'll block the door and you can block the way into the rest of the shop. but be casuale about it untill we find out. 'if she is...well, i guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Tifa nodded. "Right." She left the back room casually, and stood in the doorway, once Zeren had passed her.

Zeren went and leaned aginst the wall by the door. his hand was loose by his side, though tenced like coiled steel to grab his sword hilt

Kakrikya sensed the four newcomers' presence. She quickly whispered something into her servant spirit's ear and it dissapeared.

Dasuke, his amethyst eyes fixed on the shop, inclined his head very slightly. "We shouldn't have hired her," he murmured. "Are you lot ready to go? I bet they are. I'll take the thief out, so she can't blab anything else."
--
Willow just nodded and took the scroll, ignoring the unrest. She knew the assassins were outside, but she didn't have to tell anyone that until they asked her. She scribbled her signature there, then looked expectantly at the shopkeeper. "They'll kill me when they find out," she said with a shrug. "It was either you or them."

"If you say so," Willow replied coolly, her eyes blank. Her free hand went to her neck, as if she could feel an invisible blade against her flesh, and the thief shivered, shutting her eyes for a moment. When they opened, they showed a flicker of emotion; Fear. Then, it was gone again, and she was just as emotionless as ever.
