Kearen grinned and dashed forward. She hid behind the a tent flap then moved agian. She found a sheilded place that covered a few feet. Finding a tear in the fabric she glanced in, no one home good. She moved to the entrance and slipped inside. She quickly geabbed her staff and turned to go.

Suddenly a hand shot out from the darkness, covering her mouth. The other hand brought a large dagger to her throat. The hands were very large, covered in scars. The Commander grinned to himself. This was good. He now had a hostage.
Lan and Dire waited. All was silent. The event in the tent happened swiftly and without commotion. Suddenly the flap was pushed back and The Commander stepped out into the open, holding Kearen, the dagger still to her throat. He was massive standing behind her. he was at least six and a half feet tall, maybe even seven feet. He grinned and raised a hand into the woods. "Alright Lan, Dire. " he growled. "Playtime's over." And with that thirty soldiers marched out of the darkness of the woods.

The Commander withdrew his hand, keeping the other pressing the knife to her throat. His hand was so massive the bite hurt only a little. He wiped his hand on his pants and then casually slammed his knee into the small of her back, just hard enough to bring pain into her world, not enough to snap her spine. "Now come out you two, or I cut her throat!"
((actually this is kind of planned out by me previously so kind of just play along until I tell you.))

Lan dropped from the tree, bringing himself to a crouch then straightening up. The soldiers gasped, It appeared that Lan had just appeared out of the woods. He called out, "Let her go, Commander." He strung his bow and pointed it at him. "Let-her-go."
"No, Lan, I don't think I will." The Commander said. "unless....we make a trade.. You see, I have something you want, and I want to kill you very much." "If you surrender to me, I will let your little friend live." Lan shrugged and tossed his bow to the side. The Commander signaled his men. Ten of them walked slowly forward, keeping their swords ready. They shackled Lan brought him to The Commander. Kearen was pushed towards the woods. Dire walked forwards and pulled Kearen away into the woods. The last thing they saw was The Commander shoving his dagger into Lan's stomach. ((Ill be right back, switching computers.))

Lan gasped but held it in as The Commander slid the knife out of his stomach. He dropped to his knees and toppled over. Soldiers ran and picked up the body. The Commander glanced at him. "Keep him alive, but just barely. I have plans for him."
As soon as Dire saw that they weren't being followed he sat heavily against a tree. Lan was dead, he had seen him stabbed. Going back would be suicide, and he accepted that with a heavy heart. He looked sadly up at Kearen, "Well, that's it then, he's dead."
