Venn felt his bow begin to glow more than he felt it, and silently cursed. So Strider was here, too? Looks like things were more serious than the Inquisition had expected. Good thing his bow sensed whenever something affiliated with the Shadow were here, especially Sparks. He really only knew because the Commandant had told him the gold polymerite would activate in the presense of a Dark Purple Spark. Why it did this, he did not know. In fact, it seemed that the Commandant kept a lot to himself.
"Wounded by bandits or Necromancers, no doubt? For the time being, it appears we have the same goal. And you'll be relieved to hear that your 'guildmaster' is here."
Now, where was Strider? He was certainly close...

Strider stepped from the shadow, his midnight black cloak almost seemed to BE a shadow. His dust guard was up over his nose and mouth, so all that you could see was his eyes. His black longbow was on his back. "good day, Mr. Richtor." he rasped, nodding to Venn. "So what is this business with necromancers?"

Although Venn did not particularly like any of the vigilante rangers, one was a fool not to respect Strider. A master of his craft, Venn wondered if there was any who could equal him with a bow.
"As you very well know, the Inquisition is sworn to destroying all perversions of Magii. You know as well as I do that when someone misuses their Spark in such a way that it poisons the very world. These so called Necromancers were reported to have been attacking an abandoned ruin along with a gang of bandits. We were sent to investigate. The other three Inquisitors should be at the ruins by now."

"The other three Inquisitors are dead." said Strider. He held up a piece of cloth which was unmistakably from an inquisitor's cloak. "i suggest we do something about this.."

Venn's eyes widened. He was obviously surprised, but otherwise was not physically showing it. Suddenly he was a lot less concerned about petty squabbles with the Ranger's Guild and a lot more concerned about what they were up against.
"I don't understand. If it is just an empty ruin, and even if it did have some purpose, what could be strong enough to take out three Inquisitors? You know as well as I do that we're extremely skilled. One or two Inquisitors would have been enough to take out maybe thrity to forty necromancers, maybe more. Whoever they're getting help from, I think we have reason to worry."
Venn once again moved his bow to his side, the polymerite still faintly glowing in the presense of Strider.

"The ruins were a temporary barracks for Rangers and their apprentices." said Kay, "Other than that I don't know why necromancers would have an interest in it." he looked to Strider, who nodded. it's best that no one knows the true meaning of the ruins. thought Kay.

"I, for one, would like to know what is there that is capable of killing three of my Inquisitors. If these are just simple ruins as you say they are, it makes no sense for something of that nature to occupy them. I hope you are not withholding information from me..."
Undoubtely they were, and Venn was determined to find out what. Hellfire, three of his men down? That was ridiculous.
"Do either of you know what could be so strong that would be around this area?" Venn asked.
He had yet to address Gwydion. The boy was barely a man, and probably didn't know the scope of the evils that lived in this world.

Strider narrowed his eyes, "The Ranger's Guild has it's secrets that they may not want others to know, I'm sure you understand Mr. Richtor." With this he unslung his bow and nodded to Kay who did the same. "Let's go see what killed my Rangers." growled Strider.

Not all that vexed that he hadn't gotten an answer, Venn pulled his hood over his head and moved a mask similar to Striders over his mouth and nose. His was made of a light material resembling chainmail as opposed to Strider's, which appeared to be cloth.
"And my Inquisitors," he added, his eyes cold.

With a nod, Strider slipped into the shadows. He didn't know who had done this to his Rangers, but he knew that they would pay.

Skiestyrm slipped up beside Strider as a big silver-grey moor cat with lantern like blue-green eyes. She bumped him playfully "whats happened this time? are we dead and dont know it yet, thats likely?" she asked in a hushed whisper in her pessimistic manner.

Back at the hut Gwydion had stayed silent, listening carefully to every word that was said, and not understanding half of them. He asked Kay, "What about us?" He motioned back towards the hut.
