Jenoveve slowed her horse as they came over a hill. When they crested the top, before them they saw a small village. "We're here. Issil." instead of going towards the village they started riding to the east, instead of south. "We are almost there." she said.

Gwydion wordlessly followed Jenoveve. His excitement was hightening. They were almost there. He would finally get to learn what this was about. When she turned south, he didn't question her. She knew what she was doing. At least, he hoped she did.

They travelled for five minutes, then jenoveve stopped and worldlessly dismounted, she turned to Gwyndion and put a finger to her lips. She pointed to a spot of grass that had been trampelled under many feet, and leaning against a tree was a ranger, with a sword protruding from his stomach. Her eyes showed fear, and she drew her bow, scanning the forest wildly for enemies.

Nocking an arrow into her bow, she moved silently forward, seeming to dissapear due to the camoflauge of her cloak and how she was moving.

She whispered to him, alerting him of her location. Once Gwydion heard her voice, he could determine her vague outline against a bush. She beckoned him over.

Suddenly a hand came out of the shadows and wrapped itself around Gwydion's neck. In the heand was a serrated knife with a slight curve at the tip. "Don't move." Hissed the figure.

The figure pulled down the cloth that covered his mouth and nose. "My name is Kay, and you ask too many questions." With that he noticed Jenoveve and the cloak she wore. Recognizing another ranger, he took the knife from Gwydion's neck and placed it in his belt. "follow me." Jenoveve heard the last comment, and, noticing Kay, slowly got from her positon, ready to follow.
Kay set off through the forest, making no noise at all, jenoveve followed, glancing back at Gwydion. "come on."

Gwydion scowled and followed Kay and Jenoveve. "I'd like to get some answers for once," he muttered under his breath. So far, he had asked many questions and gotten no answers.

Kay led the way at a steady pace, barely making a sound. It seemed impossible that such a burly man could move as quickly and as silently as Kay.He seemed to dissapear for long periods of time, to simply vanish where he was. Jenoveve still followed, obviously seeing what Gwydion couldn't. After about thirty seconds, Kay held up his hand, then pointed. There was a clearing in the woods, showing some delapidated ruins. All around theseruins were multitudes of bandits. Bodies lay on the ground, thirty or so being bandits, with arrows stuck in them. Four bodies, though, were covered in similiar cloaks as Kay and jenoveve. They were covered with blood.

Gwydion saw the chaos. He went over to Jenoveve Kay and whispered, "Okay, now what's your plan? I don't think we would fare against them much better than those rangers did."

Kay cocked his head at Gwydion. "You underestimate us." He parted his cloak, on his belt were strapped five black spheres with wicks coming out of them. He withdrew one, along with a flint striker. "Get ready to run." He ignited the fuse and tossed it into the clearing. "Move!" he yelled. A few seconds later there was a deafening blast. Smoke started to rise. "You, shadow." said Kay, "Move behind that tree and get ready to start shooting." He looked at Gwydion. "Well then, draw your sticker." He said, indicating Gwydions sword. He drew his massive longbow. "Time for some fun."
