I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! I CONSIDER IT MY SECOND BEST OF ANY I HAVE EVER DONE!! The coloring... The shading... THE EYES!!
When I finished I could not help but utter the words "HOLY crap!"
This was no 'easy' feat, it took me about three hours for everything. Three hours. That's a long time. Anyway, I just came up with the idea one day whenst thinking about Dameus in the Prelude to Memories storyline. As I thought farther and farther, I thought of Link too. And, since they're both brothers and both pieces of the green spirit ~foreshadowing~, they have a lot of BOOM hidden inside of them. >:}
So, you can imagine how it looked in my mind at that moment.
Anyway, I drew the picture. It actually looked pretty bad (other than the face, it looks fairly good) but when I scanned it and seperated it into halves, colored them each in monotone, then came back and smudged over and over, and finally set in only a little contrast, IT WAS HORRIBLE.
:) HORRIBLE.
It was a bright, bright orange. Only orange. And the other half was a bright cyan green. That was all. Nothing special. No lightning, whimpy fire, big splotches of color that shouldn't even exist, no actual depth.
So, my hopes had fallen.

Until yesterday, whilst doing a portfolio for my art class, I decided I'd make a cool background on the powerpoint.
And, as my mind drifted back to the picture, I thought I'd try a few more things.
