Running as fast as he could through the trees fled the golden armored man, faster than any had ever seen. A blur in the night, a mist rolled through the forest behind him. He ran faster than he ever had, quicker than any ever knew possible.
He was running from something.
A noise far behind him creeped coldly towards his ear and echoed violently. Run, run little wyrm. No speed can keep you from your fate this day, your hope is sealed. Zodack knew better than to listen to him. The mist which followed him was black, black grey and violet. As it crawled after him, flames sprouted along the ground behind it. The woods of Agrebach would soon be alit with them, Zodack knew, but that would not be it's problem. The problem would be who created them. Zodack leapt over a log, striking a brach far above his head with his trident. A snap and the branch fell, blocking the path.
For now.
Zodack would have to keep the mist occupied for now, make sure that it didn't catch up to hi-AH! Zodack's eyes darted towards the pain in his leg and there staring back at him was a flaming arrow stuck in him. The Shadowclan! He had brought them here, too!!
"You're a coward, knight!" Zodack shouted furiously back into the mist, now burning the logs he had cut down. An arrow whizzed past his head at that exact moment, though, nearly cutting his nose an inch off. These Shadowclan must be the experienced ones. The moon was high above, the only light illuminating the darkness, but the stars began to disappear Zodack saw.
Black clouds surrounding the woods began to spiral to the center of the sky. The starlight did die, the luminous radiance of the moon was cut, and finally as the clouds reached their destination, the entire sky was a void. All light at that moment faltered, nothing at all. Another arrow flew past Zodack, far away from it's target. And all of a sudden, silence fell. Zodack could only hear his panting, the fierce rustle of crumbling leaves under his feet, and the soft, near quiet sound of fire.
No longer able to see what was in front of him, Zodack reached for his blade. Gripping a golden handle, a yellow glint sparkled from an amber gem. Zodack, savoring the moment of drawing this blade again(which he rarely did, only if necessary), brandished a dazzling, awe-filling blade of golden sunlight. The blade was near five feet long and glowed as bright as the sun in his hand. Now able to see in front of him, Zodack could see he was about to fall off an enormous cliff. Readying himself, Zodack leapt off of the enormous drop. What a sight this was, seeing a small glint of light such a far distance away that I swear fooled my eyes to be the sun. Such silence, but a beautiful sight of hat light.
But, all things do have an end, Zodack fell not where he intended. A furious rampaging river engulfed him, pulling him far under, but the sword still did shine.
Link, if you are still alive in this realm, do not take the same path as I... thought Zodack as the gurgling silence of water rushed over him, dragging him to its near depths.
I, as I write this, can't see any more of him. I wonder this very moment if this was his end.
Ah! Zodack pointed his sword above his head to the surface and muttered an enchantment, and in a burst of light the water flew upward and washed away in a wave, spreading through the forest's ground. Gasping for breath, he turned his head up towards the top of the drop. There was the mist, and now it crept downwards... Downwards towards him. Realising he must run once more, Zodack darted past, leaping up to the bank of the river and continuing into the trees. Zodack pointed Abberroc forward and muttered Ignis Illuminatra. From the blade a bright light bolted far ahead of him and exploded into smaller darts, each individual dart spiraling around in a different area to illuminate the darkness. Zodack saw an enormous tree, no leaves upon its branches. Rushing towards it, Zodack leaped up to one branch and cut its base. Then, making sure there was enough room for him to step, he leapt up to the next and the next, continuing over and over. He could see the mist again, about three hundred yards away from him. Jumping behind the tree, Zodack planted all of his strength into Abberroc and slashed the base cleanly, the light from the blade cutting in a wider circle than it actually was. The tree was at first silent, but then moaned a loud noise and fell forward, blocking the way Zodack had come through.
Zodack continued running, though now the chase was growing farther and farther. But, turning back, Zodack saw what he didn't before. The woods were consumed by an inferno! The sacred woods of Agrebach!!
"You won't win this, knight!!"
But as Zodack turned forward, he gasped and halted immediately, mere inches away from running into the Crimson Knight.
Hello Zodack. Come to play?
"No..." The knight raised his hand over his head and his fingers slightly touched backward, and in an amazing few moments the trees around the two were ignited with hungry flames.
Old friends don't mean much in the end, do they?
"Why are you doing this..."
Why? Because, he told me to.
"Him! You are working for Him?!"
Something wrong?
Zodack drew abberroc behind his shoulder and flew forward at the knight with a furious blur of gold. But, his blade met another.
This blade is known as Ragnarok. Learn it well, Zodack, as you will soon learn what it tastes like.
Zodack leapt backward in furious moves not even my eye could see, and as he landed he spat out a question.
"What have you done to them?"
What? Ah, I cleaned things up a little bit.
"You Dastard!!"
Zodack's eyes were wide and furious with anger and his golden gauntleted hand gripped even tighter on his blade.
Now, now, Zodack, don't shout names. That's rude to say to your pre-killer.
"Link! This is vengeance for your suffering! Crimson Knight, Knight of Blood, my old friend! Now you die!!"
