Dire walked up to the bar and puled out a chair for Kearen, then sat to her right. "One water and one light ale," He said to the bartender. The man nodded and produced a dusty bottle of ale and poured Kearen a glass of water. "Ten coins." said the man. Dire reahed in his pocket and dropped the coins on the counter. He drank the cool ale, refreshing after all the travelling they had done.

Kearen drank the water, enjoying the fact that it was cold. she closed her eyes.

"What, the ale?" asked Dire.
"I only drink light ale..It doesn't make you drunk, but it has more flavor than water."

Dire decided it was best not to ask what a bubble drink was.

Dire nodded and got up, bringing his ale with him.
The seaman looked up and nodded.
Dire sat next to him.
The captain looked at him and said," I assume you're looking for work."
Dire nodded, "And my frend over there."
He beckoned for Kearen to come over.

The captain took the bauble. It was a thick gold band, with an emerald embedded in it. The captain's eyes widen and he fixed the ring in his finger. He glaced up at the two. "I excpect you at the Belle at sunrise tommorrow."
