Aaron woke in bed...No... He wish it was bed at least. Actually, he woke up on a rock. bloody bandages were all over him! They could have been his clothes practically. Where was he? More importantly, why wasn't he dead? Valter leaned u-
Don't move...
...
Valter, guessing he should listen to Dameus who he now noticed, laid back down.
"What the hell happened out there? Why were my men attacked by shadow...whatever-they-weres!! And most importantly, why did you come back from your 'important mission' and save me?? ON THE BACK OF A DRAGON!!"
Would you like to attack me with questions after I just saved your puny life when I was ordered to make sure you died?
...What?? Aaron didn't understand.
He thought, after all the tea they had shared by glassfulls, that Dameus was a friend or at least a companion, above all. Kill him, though? What did that make sense of?
"I'm sorry... Thanks... I guess..."
Dameus grunted.
It was day, but unable to be told from where they were. Dameus hid himself, Aaron Zaladis Valter, and Scorn in the Dragon Tooth Ridge. It was foggy, misty in a very vulgar way. They were nestled in a cave, damp and dripping. Several insects, mainly spiders, crawling up and down the walls.
This was not a good place, Valter felt.
"Well, would it be alright for me to ask some questions now?"
Dameus did not speak, but shrugged just the slightest inch, lounging against the cold wall on the ground.
"...Why were you sent to kill me?"
Aaron waited. Dameus spoke neutrally, as if he didn't care at the moment.
Balthazun wan'ts all of his weak citizens--and occupants-- dead. That includes you.
Aaron did not understand. Their Emperor waned to kill off his own... empire??
"...Whatever that means... So then, he sent those... shadow things to kill us?"
You catch on quite quickly.
"...Thanks... And, what was your important mission?"
To destroy Raoro.
...WHAT?!
"Destroy empire Raoro?? By gods, what madness is this you speak of?? You killed an entire empire?"
Easy. Dameus cocked his head towards Scorn, curled up in the back. Aaron, still finding it hard to stay in the same spot when a dragon was on the other side of the room, nervously nodded.
"Great... And you killed them all why??"
Balthazun wants no opposition.
"For what?? Why would they oppose him?"
He plans to whipe out all unclean life. In other words-- he wants to destroy everything 'unessecary' to him.
So all of those people... Aaron, his men, all of the people in the empire but the Emperor himself, all of those in the other empire...
All were useless?
"So you're telling me you decided to kill everyone who was 'unecessary'?"
I didn't decide, I was told.
"WHY DID YOU LISTEN?! This is madness, Dameus!! You have no right to kill so many people and not even care! All because of orders??"
Yes.
"You do not deserve to be titled 'General', your actions are rather to savage to be anything but a barbarian at the least!!"
Aaron's eyes suddenly grew as he saw Dameus stand, a blade drawn into his hand.
You wish to question my authority in this, General Valter?
Scorn opened his eye to stare at them from the other end.
"I question why you killed thousands and don't seem to care!"
Aaron jumped out of his haybed, reaching for his katana and pulling it out of it's sheathe.
And you call me mad, Valter?
"I'd call you much more."
Aaron threw a blow at Dameus, but it was caught too early.
Sword thrown out of his hands and pressed against the wall, blade etching into his neck with the slightest sting.
I spared one, did I not? Would you rather me relinquish my pity?
Aaron did not speak.
I did not guess so.
He was released, falling onto the ground in a heap. Dameus turned and walked towards Scorn's paw, all of their supplies under it.
Scorn moved his claws away from the equipment and Dameus began searching through things.
Aaron sat up, wounds now stinging after he had confronted a higher general.
"So, what are your plans to do with me?"
Dameus did not answer as he tore through bag after bag, throwing trinkets and objects out of the bags behind him.
"'Ello?"
Breakfast.
Aaron was hit in the forehead by a random missile he believed to be called "bread and butter". Simple enough.
He began eating breakfast. Dameus made tea, as he was accustomed to do at his own home, and sat next to Valter, eating bread and butter as well.
Nothing was hardly said except for please and "mmphg..."
Not to polite, that Dameus.
"You know, this is kind of funny. Our tea could explode right now, so long as we lit it on fire."
Mmphg...
"Pssh, open your mouth for once."
Mmhmm...
"...Anyway, I was wondering..."
Dameus froze in the middle of his bread slice.
"...Why did you come back for me?"
Dameus didn't answer.
"Well?"
I had nothing better to do.
"...Alright then. Well, what are you going to do with me now?"
Plot something.
plot what? Against who? How? Why?? Where?! WHEN!!
"Excuse me?"
Oh? I didn't know you sneezed.
"...Plot what against who and why for whatever reason, when will it happen at what place?"
We're going to kill the Emperor, because I want to, it will happen in a month or so, and obviously-- wherever he is.
"Are you joking?"
Nope.
"Seriously?"
Yes.
"Sure?"
Always.
"...You remind me of my brother, Eldar. He's always jumping for things seemingly impossible."
Isn't that a good thing?
"Sometimes, yes... Others not entirely."
So are you two twins or something?
"No. Triplets."
Then who's your third brother?
Aaron fell silent and turned his head the other direction.
Dameus, not expecting an answer now, turned back to his bread and continued eating.
"We never got to name him."
Why?
"Stop asking questions!!"
You won't.
"I mean you!"
Seriously?
"YES SERIOUSLY."
Hmm... Dameus shrugged.
Moments passed by, Dameus chewing his bread, Aaron staring aside wondering, watching the sky.
"We were seperated at birth, Eldar, my third brother, and I..."
Why?
"I was getting to that!... We... were caught in the middle of a mage battle. We aren't sure, we were only just born-- we heard from our late aunt-- and for some reason, we were each touched by a series of teleporting spells and... off we went through time and space, winding up wherever."
Where did you land, and where did you find Eldar?
"I landed just outside of Fervarok Fortress. I was raised there, and soon found my brother when he was shipped into it as punishment for thieving. But... our other brother was still missing."
Do you by chance know who your brother's name was?
"No..."
Dameus sensed something suddenly.
.....
He felt his mind switching with something, switching sides perhaps, like turning through a thick-filled waterwheel, into a different stream...
And his thoughts changed entirely. Scorn noticed this and lifted his head, wondering what exactly was happening.
"Something wrong?"
....
"I'm not sure..." spoke Sean Fearon.
"...Dameus? That's not your voice..."
Dameus?? That Dameus Elasia was always talking about??
Sean lifted the helmet over his head and stared into the face of Aaron...
....
Oh my gods...
Aaron stared wide-eyed at Sean.
"...Brother??"
"..."
It was as if two mirrors-- one with dark brown hair and the other with silver-- stared straight into eachother's eyes for the first time in sixteen years.
Don't move...
