Theodore, after days of traveling, ascended the marble staircase to Rose Hall, the center of Castle Raoro. Guards patrolling the grounds had become a nuissance with their constant "Halt!"'s and questions that never made sense to Theodore. As soon as he had mounted the top of the staircase, Theodore paused to gaze upon a passionate crimson-tiled floor with the most curious and inspiring golden beads of light that echoed along a wide and continuous hall. Near the end of his sight there sat in two gilded crimson thrones the King and Queen of Raoro, Ezekiel and Rose Osmond. Theodore smiled and strode down the long hallway towards the two Royals. He couldn't help but smell a fragrance of roses and soon noticed that below every glimmering torch in the hall existed clusters and arrays of all assortments of flowers--commonly roses. Theodore snorted slightly but remembered he was in a castle where those flowers were taken seriously and he pretended he had a large sneeze. "Aa-chleeuech!" Nearing Ezekiel and Rose, he took a bow. And if they ask why I sneezed, I'll tell them I have a horrible cold. Wait, it's Summer... Nevermind...
(I SUCK AT INTRODUCTIONS, ignore how horrible it is--I just don't ever know how to bring in a scene. I suck at it. Oh well, we'll carry on anyhow.)

((It's not that bad. I don't know anything about the architecture of the royal areas, and since you do, it helped a lot.)) When Ezekiel laid eyes on the towering man, he allowed himself a faint grin. He had never met a Dragerok before, or even a relative to them as his scolars had told him Theodore was. He would enjoy a long chat with this man after the nuisance of formalities had been finished. Unfolding his arms which had been crossed in impatience a moment before, he stood up and strode to Theodore, his grin growing wider. After Theodore had risen from his bow, Ezekiel extended a gloved hand in greeting. Frankly, he didn't care that Theodore had bellowed something akin to a sneeze. There were lots of flowers, and perhaps he was allergic.
"Welcome to Castle Raoro, friend."
Ezekiel noticed that Rose had not moved. She was still sitting in her throne, eyes on the man and a slight frown of concentration across her lips. Her left hand was resting on her wand, her fingers touching the amythest. Since Mother and Father were away on some sort of business, Rose had turned extra cautious and judgemental. Ezekiel could only hope that she was not too rude to their visitor.

Theodore nodded and returned a grand smile. "It's a pleasure, my Lord." he said and shook hands with Ezekiel. Theodore took in account his noble features and realized how much he wasn't used to royalty. He is quite a Prince, I'll admit that much. Hmm. Turning his gaze then to Rose Osmond, he noted her quirky stature. "And a pleasure to you, my Lady." Maybe she doesn't like how I'm talking. I've read enough books on this subject, I'm sure.. 'A Talk with Royalty' by Lamage Gertrude. That lady, she must have been lying.
(Lol. I still suck at introductions, no matter what.)

"Don't look so nervous, friend." Ezekiel said, returning his hand to his side. "Raoro is a benevolent place, and you have nothing to fear...from me, at least." Ezekiel threw a knowing glance to his sister, then gave Theodore a friendly pat on the back and whispered, "she's like this all the time, even around me. One gets used to it after a while."
Rose just glared at Ezekiel and sniffed royally, as if she had heard every word he spoke. Ezekiel knew that under her cold, generally blank exterior was a warm, kind interior. She just never let it show. Ever. Once a mysterious magician, always a mysterious magician...

Theodore nodded slightly and blew through his lips making a near-silent "Ooh." It doesn't make her any less awkward. "So," he began, "I have come to congratulate the House of Osmond. I do believe you all deserve humble gratitude, and I bring the best wishes from the Dragon's Jaw." I do hope they know that's where Daeshektoa come from. "Sheko oktoa, hom meik ko hom." he spoke deep in his throat. "Good friend, my home is your home."

Good thing Ezekiel had remembered to take up studying Dragerok. It had proved a more difficult dialect for him to catch on to, resulting in many long nights spent studying, and many long days with his scholars. If only he knew enough to answer in the Dragerok tongue. That would have impressed Theodore.
"And my home, yours. How do the peoples of the Dragon's Jaw fare as of late?" he asked, honestly curious. He had never been there, but he had seen paintings of the soaring peaks and massive snowcaps of the Dragon's Jaw as well as the treasures that would occasionally roll into the Castle or the markets surrounding it.
He felt something brush up against his leg, and heard a faint noise. Taken off guard he looked down at a small, gray and black speckled cat that was brushing up against his leg and purring. Strange. He didn't remember anyone in the Castle owning a cat. Perhaps Alis, his and Rose's personal maid, had one. She had just recently moved into Castle Raoro, and there was no telling what the kind woman had brought with her. She could only be a few years older than himself, but had great patience and occasionally the strangest insight into things. He'd have to ask her about the strange cat later...

(I have an idea of who or what that cat is ) Theodore smiled. He liked the idea that people now could ask him questions about the Dragon's Jaw, his favorite place in the world. "Well, we have stayed the same. We still dance and we still sing songs, we still make weapons, all of the sort. If I tried to think of anything different, it would take a lot longer than you could hope. Oh, a cat." Theodore noticed the tiny spot of gray that grazed Ezekiel's leg. Well, it's just a cat... But I have a weird feeling. I haven't seen a cat like that since Marcus was...

"That's good to hear. I certainly hope that the small amount of human discrimination against Drageroks has not become a burden." Ezekiel sighed, the truth of his next words wieghing on him. "We can be a spiteful race..." Rose had yet to say anything. Ezekiel figured she would just sit on her throne in silence until Theodore left or until Ezekiel drug him off somewhere to talk. Or spar, if Theodore was any good with a blade. "So, what do you think of Raoro?"

Theodore laughed. "Raoro? I've never been in a more beautiful place. This country has many more hills than the others--it makes me feel more at home. And you have quite the array of flowers." Theodore slightly choked on the last phrase. Theodore glanced down at the cat again. "Is that your cat? What's it's name? Do you mind if I pet it?"

"You know, it's the strangest thing..." Ezekiel said, glancing down at the cat again. What a strange color. "I don't recall anyone in the Castle owning a cat. At all. I suspect Alis Elser, Rose and my personal attendant, may have brought it with her when she was hired to work here at Castle Raoro, but I am uncertain as to whether she likes animals. I suppose I will ask her when I see her next."

Theodore's nose twitched. "Hmm.. So be it." The cat was strange. Theodore's eyes narrowed. After staring for a few moments, he shook his head and turned his gaze back to Ezekiel. "Well, what is currently occupying your parents? Or is that allowed within my asking?" He grinned. "Off with my head?"

Ezkiel grinned and drew his finger across his throat in a mock off-with-your-head motion. "It's fine for you to ask. They're traveling to Fabrith to meet Sepith Cesnic, the other cantidate aside from myself. From what I've heard, he's a decent person. I don't know about his parents, though." Ezekiel actually didn't know a lot about Fabrith in general. Of course, he could list off everything there was to recite about it: income, major exports, cash crops, geographical location, monarchy system, and the like, but he really didn't know anything about the people who lived there or how they felt or acted. He had never been to Fabrith, but he assumed a diplomatic trip would soon be in order.

Theodore's smile stayed true. "Ha, Sepith. I haven't heard much about Fabrith either. He sounds kinda strange. That's hard for me to pronounce. Anyway, can you explain more about the Cantidates? What's the necessary... voting... for?" Theodore never understood politics.

(Haha. 4000th post.) "Well, you see," Ezekiel replied, getting excited that someone had taken intrest, "it's all very exciting political-wise. Since Raoro and Fabrith are to unite, the two Empires will have their first every 'election'. A strange word, I know, but all the people of each Empire will say which cantidate they want to rule: myself, or Sepith. They're calling this a 'vote'."
Ezekiel heard Rose sniff, get up from her throne, and walk off. Probably to go study magic, or something of the like. She hated politics almost as much as she loved magic. Rose was strange like that. A Princess who despised politics. Go figure.
"Oh, and als-"
Ezekiel was cut short as a scream ripped through the Castle, followed by a terrified exclamation.
"Come quick! There's been a murder!!"

(Z0mg) Theodore spun around when he heard the scream. His left hand on instinct reached for Evondite's hilt, he barely clutched it--but decided it was necessary to hold it at the least in case the murderer were to show him or her self. "Ezekiel, let's hurry." Theodore appeared to be waiting for Ezekiel.
