A challenger, swathed dramatically in a dark cloak, sweeps into the stadium, his facial features hidden by the large hood that shadowed his face. What little could be seen underneath the mottled gray-black cloak held the glint of metal, and already, in just one gloved hand, he held a massive sword. He seemingly cared little about his challenger, adopting a cocky pose as he waited for whomever might dare challenge him.
[[ Knock yourself out with this one. I want to go absolutely wild. ]]

Riko stops in front of the Colosseum, considering whether or not to go in. I'm in need of something to, so I guess this works. I can always throw in the towel if it gets to be too dangerous. [glow=red,2,300]You humans, always ready to run away or gi-[/glow]I don't recall asking for your opinion. [glow=red,2,300]I don't recall having to.[/glow] Riko sighed, and entered the Colosseum, registering for a fight on his way.

"Nobody?" The voice was deep, menacing, and held an almost metallic timbre to it," A disappointment. Ah well. What more should I expect from a mere human establishment."
Without sheathing his sword, he turned to leave.

Riko stopped the him, saying, "Maybe you should make sure before you leave. I'm ready to fight, if you haven't noticed." He didn't know why he did he, he just...knew he should fight whoever it was. "I'll be waiting", and he walked into the Colosseum.

"You?" intense dark eyes regarded Riko under the hood. The figure almost seemed to dismiss him as it shrugged, and turned around," I see."
Then, using one hand to grip the low railing, he flung himself into the ring, landing on both feet with an audible thump. He raised a hand, and beckoned Riko to come at him. It was always a precautionary measure to gauge an opponent before any real fighting begins.

He must not be sure about me, or he wouldn't be using that trick. Well, let's give him a bit of a shock, Riko thought, and sure enough, rather than sprinting towards the...whatever it was...he drew his rapier, and began to walk across the field, showing no alarm what-so-ever.

"Your loss," the figure shrugged," I hoped to toy with you, but unfortunately, I'm not one to take risks."
In contrast to his words, he merely stood still, seemingly waiting for Riko's blows to fall upon him. His cloak seemed oddly flat, however, and the image seemed frozen in time. Perhaps, in a way, it was. The real opponent had long disappeared into a bubble of reality within the great void. Not Oblivion. A completely different plane - of Akaviri roots. And he observed. Using those tactics were naturally wasted upon such a competitor, he reasoned after a short while, but watching their confusion could nonetheless be amusing.

[glow=red,2,300]Something's not right.[/glow] You mean the fact that have a demon in my head that I talk to isn't wrong enough? [glow=red,2,300]No, it's just that something's wrong with him. He's not there anymore.[/glow] What do you mean?! [glow=red,2,300]I mean he's retreated into some other dimension or something. It could be any number of parallel dimensions or alternate dimensions or any pocket dimensions in between.[/glow] Summarize. [glow=red,2,300]He may be able to hurt you still, but you can't hurt him.[/glow] I may have to test that. And with that Riko lashed out at the prone figure. As the demon had said, it didn't do squat. Not good. Riko stepped away, staring at the illusion.

He gazed down from his small bubble of reality into the fray, eons away from where he was. It was curious. He saw the lethal edge of the metal blade go clean through himself, and then out again. There was no trace that it hit anything. Apparently, he had already overestimated the capacities of his opponent, but nonetheless, he didn't move from his likely perch, watching over the arena with a birds-eye-view. There was something odd about that person. It was a premonition, but never did they go unheeded, and thus, he contented himself with watching as his opponent struck out at him.
"I should hope I don't bore of this too soon."
Riko was left to gaze at the illusion for a long while, or whatever else he did. The figure watching from his safe refuge sighed, and gathered his powers. The portal opened behind Riko. If he could've worked his powers over such a long distance, life would've been ten times easier for the challenger, but unfortunately, all beings had some limits. Then, he let his arm lash out through the portal on his side. It was an odd sensation, but he had gotten used to it.

Before he could react, Riko was popped in the back of the head. He quickly flipped up and threw his sword with all of his strength through the portal.

He had commanded the portal to close as soon as he had withdrew his hand, foolishly assuming that his opponent was too poor a combatant to have such quick reflexes. It had suprised him as he saw the boy, a mere boy of fifteen years, turn, lightning-quick in his reactions, and flung the gleaming metal blade straight through the portal. The blade he gripped in his hand was too large & unwieldy to bring up in time to parry the point. Without thinking, he enlarged the bubble of reality he resided in to dodge the point.
However, that effort was wasted. The blade had stopped in mid-flight, half of the rapier residing in existence on his side of the universe, the other half near Riko, hanging almost comically in mid-air, a small area of the blade threatening to flicker out of existance. The cloaked figure scowled under his cowl. He had truly underestimated his opponent. He made a note not to do that again as he gripped the blade with one gloved hand, and jerked it with a force, attempting to bring the whole of the rapier into his own little world.

((You're going to regret that. )) Riko grinned; even if the rapier didn't hit, his opponent was in for a little suprise. Holding out his hand as if to grip the rapier, Riko's grin split into a full smile. His rapier was back in his hands. ((Note: This is by the magic of the rapier, not his own.))

As soon as his fingers reached the blade, the metal under his fingers vanished as he sensed the faint tingle of magic. Placing a recall spell on a mere weapon of steel. He couldn't help but recognise the wisdom & foresight of such an activity. His empty hand was clenched in a fist, gripping nothing, whilst the other still held the sword he had entered with. Then, under the cowl, the corners of his mouth flicked up. He unclenched his fist, and replaced his sword in the great sheath on his back. A weapon materialized in his hand. A shimmering bow, colours running at random across it. A few moments later, it had adopted a grayish-black colour scheme, with dragon heads formed at the tips for decoration, what looked to be carved ebony making up the rest of the bow.
Again, he opened the portal, albiet a good deal further from Riko this time, and behind his back. Again. Only the faint zzshinct of magic could be heard as the portal popped into existence. He drew his bow back, with no arrow, and fired. A shimmering magic bolt closed the distance between it and Riko in a mere second.
