Kearen sighed and walked to the back of the boat. "normally most ships have wells you turn, but since this is a smaller boat, the rudder has to be turned by hand." She pointed to the thick peice of wood that came over the back of the ship "thats the handle, the way you turn it depends on the direction you want to go." HSe walked over and pulled it so that the ship turned west then tied it in place

((what i mean by tied is that it can only go so far in eather direction, if it starts going the wrong way the slack in the rope will keep it from turning and it will go west agian))
