"So!" Anasa said, turning to Sterling, "What brings you to this neck of the woods?"

((Well better now than never i suppose...)) As they talked a pair of golden eyes watched them from the branches of a tree. They had vertical pupils and a courious look in them. The creature they belonged to was all black, blending into the shadows, reptialan in nature, maby one size bigger than a large dog. A pair of bat like wings folded along its back, the span twice the length of its body, which was long and snakelike with slender legs.It had a long tail with a big fan shaped end. iT cocked its head and flicked its fan shaped ears tword them. Well, they smelled like who it was suppose to find.

Sterling's ears flicked forward, and he sniffed deeply. What was that smell? Like a serpent...only different. "I live around, I'm traveling right now," he replied with a shrug. His ears swiveled again. False adder, Sterling thought. Maybe. That's what it smelled like....

Lan turned his head in the direction of a sound in the forest, a twig breaking on a tree. After a few seconds, when he saw nothing he turned back. He turned his head quickly again to the same spot, knowing that sometimes the less experienced will show themselves after they have been overlooked once. He saw nothing again and shrugged, noticing that the wolf had noticed it to. He kept quiet, however, and focused on the conversation.

The creature turned its head back to being strait and then hopped down out of the tree. It put it's head under its wing and pulled something that was held there. A black arrow with a silver tip and three leather tyes on it. They where all covered in symbols. He stepped into the edge of the firelight and squeaked loudly.

((I fail to see the significance of the arrow? A symbol of Arissa perhaps?))

Sterling's ears perked. "He found it," the wolf-man announced. "I think he wanted to bring it back to her." He emitted a few squeaks, ears swiveling up and down, his eyes widened slightly. "If I remember any of the language....I think I just told him she's not here."

"I don't know. I don't....really know these people," Sterling replied, then glanced at Lan. "He wants to know why is she late. What should I say?"
