Drawing lessons?!
DRAWING LESSONS?!
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
nonononoonononoonononoonon ononononononononononononooooooo
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
JOO DON'TZ NEED DRAWER LEZZONS!! NOOOOOOO!!
when I was about seven years old I asked my sister "How did you learn to draw so good?"
what she replied with was "I drew a pair of jeans"
...
not "I got drawing lessons",
"I drew a pair of jeans"...
.............
as you can guess when I tried to draw a pair, it was...nnghboomaaahomgey....
:\ lol
but NOW
after YEARS
of DRAWING
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
AND OVER
again...
guess where I've gotten.
those three drawings were only about 7% of ALL the drawings I had to scan when I went to the scanner.
about FIFTY of my (possibly) "best" drawings were lost at my parents store, I want to go there and look for them because...
IT HAD ALL MAH G00DINZ!!! :'L
The ones I didn't scan today included:
Full draconic armor
Dharok
Guthan
Verac
Torag
Karil
Ahrim
Bottom view of Ivan
Dameus (10 years old) portrait
Dameus's arbalest
Awizals book and scimitar
(a really crappy and not finished) picture of Dameus
Fighter dude
...-won't reveal his name at the moment because he will appear in the storyline who HAS actually been mentioned in the story, but you most likely won't guess his initials when I tell you you may think of someone else- Some dude in an awesome kimono
...
(if there were any more, which I thought there were, I can't recall them at the moment)
DRAWING LESSONS DO NOT HELP YOU, THEY ONLY GIVE YOU FALSE MINDLINESS
The only way to learn to draw is to come up with your own style and develop it. Yes, you may already have a style...
but it's not perfect, as is not mine or was Van Gough's or -continues on with names-
"learning" how to draw from lessons does NOT work because it gives YOUR LEFT BRAIN information, NOT YOUR RIGHT BRAIN
the left brain is where ALL THE SMARTS ARE
the right brain IS THE PLAYHOUSE
when you draw and you don't focus on anything but the drawing and don't think of things like "this angle is equivalent to that of a spherical blahblahblahmajigger", then after a while you should enter the right brain.
This is the way a left brain writes: B
This is the way a right brain writes: B
Left brain line: l
Right brain line: S
the right brain is more playful and thinks of "oh, this line looks squiggly!! Lets add on... ........
shadeshadeshadeshadeshade SMUDGE SMUDGE SMUDGE lighteraselighteraselighterase..."
the left brain is more logical and reasons, like "this line should be two inches and... match up to that one on the right... Gah!! That was the wrong movement, ERASE ERASE ERASE... parallel here... line there..."
TO TEACH THE RIGHT BRAIN, you can't teach the left brain. That's all there is to it.
And the ONLY way to teach the right brain is to DO IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER and try to make it better in a creative way.
:'{ don't take lessonz nooooo...
