They're not rapid fire, and they have a much smaller blast radius. Think Assualt Rifle Rapid Fire.

you know what else is great against banshees? throwing a powerdrain into a near by grav-lift that then fires said power drain into the banshee, or as i like to call it the John Gilliam technique* (patent applied for)
*note that to officially qualify as the "John Gilliam tecnique the word "VIKINGS" must be shouted loudly as the powerdrain is thrown
