Skyz attacked swiftly and stealthily, making no sound till he hit a small rock, making minute noise. The monk brought his arm around to attack, but Skyz sword takes the blow. He is blown back, flips off the wall, and brings his sword down swiftly and powerfully. The monk is prepared, however, and lets the sword sink into the ground and kicks the separated swordsman into the wall. Skyz hits the floor afterwards and the monk runs directly at him, throwing his sword away towards the opposite wall.

"NOOO!" Matt charges the monk from the side and runs into him using his iron clad body as a weapon. the monk is knocked off balance as the pure heft of Matt charged into him. the monk wasn't down for long though and jumped back into a defensive stance, waiting for an attack.

Skyz's sword is sent away and Skyz pulls the Brisinger sword to defend himself, but instead the Katana appears! He flips upward and the monk's foot destroys a section of the wall. Skyz blends into the shadows again without a sound.

"if i cant hit him at close range then how do you..." Matt then remembered the javelin he had acquired on the ship. he equipped it, gave it a good through and....... the monk dodged the attack just barely. the attack did give the monk a nasty cut on the arm. realizing where Matt was, the monk charged his prey.

As the monk charged matthew John drew an arrow, taking advantage of the monk's preoccupation, and fired the deadly shaft, which stuck fast in the monks back, the monk was thouroughly confused, he stopped for a few seconds, then turned from Matthew anc charged at John.

As the monk sprinted ever closer John threw the bow over his back and drew his axe, to be better suited to close range combat, the monk drew in range and threw a quick strike, which John dodge, swinging his axe immediately afterwards, the monk dodged handily and struck again, and again John avoided, swinging away at the monk, who cotinued to be elusive, they continued this game until, finally, the monk landed a solid blow, right in John's stomach, knocking John back against the wall, the monk saw his chance and immediately struck again, but John stepped out of the way just in time, and the monk's steel clad fist struck a sizeable hole in the wall.

The monk yanked his fist from the wall, losing his gauntlet in the process, as he scrambled to locate and retreive his weapon, John drew his axe and struck from behind, slicing deep into the monk, pas his shoulder and into his torso, the monk let out a subtle hiss of pain and fell to the floor, submitting to his defeat.

matt panted heavily after the long and exhausting battle. " these guys may be tough but there strong! just look at this!" matt pointed to the sizable hole in the wall. "weve got to keep are distance at all costs! if we run into multiple monks were gonna be in big trouble."

John signaled for silence as he advanced across the room to the small door on the other side, the door swung open silently, and the group entered. The room beyond was completelely plunged into an inky blackness, which covered everything. John re-lit his torch, pushing the blanket of darkness away, revealing the sheer massiveness of the room they now stood in, the circle lit by the torch didnt even reveal the other side of the room, the group stood in a small ring of light, which was adrift in a sea of darkness.

" what is this place?" said matt as he looked around the room in awe. " this chamber alone must be at least 100 feet across!"

John wandered around, eventually the light touched against a wall of the chamber, John walked over too it, he ran his hand along the wall and found a bracket for a torch, it was an anciet furnishing, which had apparently been around since the cave was inhabited by something that needed light, John lit the torch that had been left in the bracket, and extra light flooded forth, giving slightly more room to wander.

As light slowly filled the room the true purpose of the ghastly chamber was revealed, at the end of the room there was a collection of benches, carved out of stone, the benches all faced a single monument, a stone shrine of some unfamiliar beast, it began as a giant snake, but as the tail continued it grew into something like a man, with broad shoulders, connected to long sinnewy arms that ended in twisted claws, in front of the shrine sat a small dais, topped by a large book. The thick volume was concealed in black leather, with a dark-purple tribal design printed upon it.

"... what is.... this?" Matt slowly approached the alter. the dust in this area was a few inches thick, and it appears to not have been used in a very long time. " do you guys feel.... something? a sort off odd chill?" matt takes a closer look at the alter " ive never seen anything so.... extraordinary"
