The beast was lurking hunched in the far corner of the room, apparently completely unaware of John's presence. John took a step towards it, the creature turned and faced John, it's one eye was a sickly green, the creatures brow was low and furrowed, betraying it's angry stupidity. the creature let out a devastating shriek, revealing two rows of grayed needlelike teeth, covered in bits of flesh and grime from the creatures meals

The creatures skin was a pale white-blue color, and had a slick, amphibeous quality to it. the creature had two huge, powerful arms, which were offset by a third assemetryical arm just above the creatures waist. The third arm was not large and threatening like the first two, but small and gnarled as if it was the arm of an old man. It was clear that this creature did not exist in nature, but was some kind of inbred disaster, or some sort of genetic accident.

The creature charged John, moving at a surprising speed due to its frenzied state, it swung one of its heavy arms like a wrecking ball, hitting john square in the stomach, knocking him on the ground. The creature took the chance to pin John to the ground, and leaned in, its gnashing needle-like teeth growing ever closer to John's throat, just in time the creatures grip slipped, freeing john's arm. John reacted quickly, he seized the creatures small ugly head in the palm of his hand, and smashed its face into a nearby rock. The creature whipped its head around, but stepped away from John in apprehension. John leapt to his feet and stepped back, studying the beast.

the beast didn't stay apprehensive for long, as John was struggling to remove his axe from the leather straps that held it to his back the creature charged again recklessly. John pulled his axe with considerable force, ripping one of the straps in the process. John stepped quickly to the right and swung his axe, striking a glancing blow, which left a long gash going down the creatures face.

Blood ran red from the beast's fresh wound. It caught drops of fresh blood in its open hands, the creature stood silent, as warm blood trickled down its face and dripped to the floor. the creature looked down as the blood began to pool at its feed, the creature seemed shocked beyond belief as if it had never been stricken before. then it turned its head and bellowed again, driven to new heights of anger by its wound. It dropped to all fours and charged again, John sidestepped, but not quick enough, and he was caught in the creatures charged, and pinned to the wall.

John was pinned to the wall, but his axe hand was free, the creature was swinging its arms wildly, buffeting John with wild blows. John began to hack away at the creatures exposed back, but its sking was soft and squshy, John's axe sliced deep and stuck fast in the creatures back, and blood flowed out freely. the creature wretched in pain and recoiled, John reached out and retrieved his axe from the creature's back as the creature turned tail and ran back across the cave

John seized his oppurtunity, while the beast fled John lept upon it, sinking his axe into the beasts neck, nearly severing its head. John landed on the creatures back with his full weight, knocking the creature to the ground, he pulled his axe back out. The creature screamed in pain, as more of its blood flooded out of its body. John stepped off of the creature, it tried to rise but failed, as the life ebbed out of it. It laid on the floor and let out one more gurgle, and was silent.

John gave the dead beast a harsh kick in the ribs, just to be sure it was dead, and set out of the cave. He strapped his axe to his back and bundled up in his robe, and stepped out into the freezing blizzard. He continued on until he reached the old camp. Night was close, so he slept in the camp to avoid getting caught at night in a blizzard with nowhere to sleep. In the morning he woke up and continued on to the village.

((okay, so there might be a little bit about blood, maybe even unnecessary blood, but i dont think it was particularly gross.))
