I play RuneScape, and I don't see how it's been messed up.
If any of you have read the updates, you should realize that they did what they did for a reason.
I'm positive almost all of you have heard of RWT'ers, Real World Traders.
"Well what's so special about that? It's just a game, come on.."
RWT'ers make Jagex lose money when they have to find them, delete them, find the source, send them to court, repeat, over and over.
Those of you who are wondering what I'm talking about, you definately need to read the Development Diary on RWT-ing.
It explains everything.
How is it messed up?
They had to take out unfair trade so no RWT-er could run in and give some level 3 10 million gold.
"But that's stupid."
Oh? No longer can your friends lend you stuff? No longer can prices keep going dooown?
Actually, for those of you who played a little longer, you could tell in the Grand Exchange prices are still going down. Just like the economy did.
Just the same.
I don't see how that's so horrible. How can you be so freaked out that you can't buy an Abyssal Whip at its normal price?
That's what you would do, right?
Buy it at its normal price?
Or would you rather use unfair trade and buy it at a lower price, such as "Buying whip 100k".
Isn't that... scamming? Depends on the way you look at it.
Prices lower because the players lower how much they want to buy something for.
And, for how many whips there are.
Supply and demand.
That's economy, people. You need to learn it.
Now, the next part.
Wilderness.
"Omg I can't kill people in the Wildy anymore that's messed up I h8 RuneScape"
Oh wow.
You can't kill someone anymore.
And get...like...
100k.
Amazing.
Umm...
That's all I can really say. I've never killed in there, and I've played around 3 or 4 years. (No I don't want to add any of you who may still play, go figure. Please don't ask... though I don't think from the looks of what's on this page anyone would care)
Now, Gravestones.
Gravestones are the best things ever, in my opinion.
You realize, that to get rid of RTW-ers, Jagex would have to get rid of drop/death trading.
Where someone drops their money/an item(usually pretty costly of an item) and the buyer picks it up, or they run into the wilderness and die so that the buyer can take it.
"But I liked killiiiing I made like 100k every 5 hoursss"
Wow.
Amazing. You guys should have realized, out of all the time you would have had, that RS in no way said "Wilderness is the only way you can make money"
If you never knew,
you have skills.
Attack
Strength
Health
Defence
Magic
Ranged
Prayer
Mining
Smithing
Summoning
Hunter
Farming
Herblore
Thieving
Crafting
Agility
Construction
Runecrafting
Slayer (A major money maker, I've head from some that they get 1m-2m an hour with Slayer, but note they have high slayer. "But I don't have high Slayer" THEN TRAIN IT. That's the point they have LEVELS)
Cooking
Fishing (A big one there)
Fletching (A big one there)
Fire Making
Woodcutting
And QUESTS (some do give mild money, though it's not too much. But they also give great experience)
If you cannot make ANY money from ANY of those skills and you have HIGH levels in each of them and TRY FOR AT LEAST THREE DAYS to make MONEY,
then I truly do agree that you probably can't make money with them.
And Gravestones, you realize, mean that if you randomly DIE, you don't lose your stuff?
Isn't that a good thing?
"OMG but what if a high level dies!!"
How many times can you tell me that you've watched a high level die and you were the only there to take his stuff which was probably a few empty vials one or two monkfish a warrior helmet and probably junk?
How many times can you name you were the only one to experience a lvl 100+'s death.
How many times.
Tell me that, and I will definately understand why you wish they didn't have Gravestones.

And I do agree with all of you that they hardly update their Nonmembers, and I do wish they would make it more enjoyable for them. Without updates most Nonmembers lose hope of any difference in the next day they log on, something more fun to do than you already have done.
But several nonmembers still play, do they not?
Most every member began as a nonmember until level 30-80.
Our next subject, the DUEL ARENA.

Sooo you don't believe a RWT-er could run in and stake a consumer from their site the amount of money they purchased/the item they purchased?
Do you not see that's what Jagex is trying to get rid of?
Can you not tell they are doing it for a reason?
Jagex wouldn't just randomly take away everything that made EVERY. SINGLE. PLAYER. want to play.
But they had to take some things away to rid the game of RWT-ers, and no it's not gotten rid of all of them.
But the number has dropped so dramatically low, it is allowing Jagex to update RuneScape with better, more enjoyable, and higher detail updates.

You can't kill in the Wilderness anymore. And make hardly anything, or possibly die yourself.
You can't stake above 3k in the Duel Arena. How many of you staked, anyway? How much too btw.
Gravestones replace Character-remains. Wow, you never saw anyone die anyway. Plus if you die you can get your junk back. WOOHOO.
You can't trade above the standard price. OH MY GOSH. I CAN'T BORROW STUFF FROM FRIENDS ANYMORE. LIFE IS HORRIBLE.
"Well how am I supposed to make money now? I DID PK AND MAKE LIKE 500K AN HOUR AND STAKE MY BUTT OFF AND SURVIVE OFF OF CHARACTER-REMAINS! You noob."

I know this was a very intense and very fact-filled rant on your comments on how RS is so messed up, but it really aggrivates me when you guys don't read WHY they did it (and I may be wrong, all of you may have read them, but I don't see how if you did that you couldn't understand why they did what they did and not feel that it's ruined)
I want to let you guys know that in no way is RS ruined, I play it every day like I have for 3 or 4 years.
Note, that none of you have to reply to this. I'm just saying it.
And MY OPINION is MY OPINION.
Everyone has a different OPINION, so don't let MY OPINION seem like it's supposed to be the ONLY OPINION.
All of you, just think what you want to. I just wanted to say it, because I hate it when everyone just rants to Jagex when Jagex was just trying to help their players and make it a more enjoyable experience for them.
