Lan had the dream again. He was in his castle, and Zeth burst into the door. Lan went to him to welcome him, but as he embraced him in a hug he noticed an arrow shaft sticking out of Zeth's back. Then he was alone, holding Zeth, looking into his lifeless eyes. Then he would wake up. He jerked awake, it was mid-day, humid outside. He glanced over at Arissa, talking to Ta' over in a corner and Anasa dosing off on the bed he made her. She must have woken up while he was asleep, then went back to sleep. He walked over to Arissa and put his hand on her shoulder. "I'll take it from here, you look like you need some rest." He fingered one of his throwing-knives around his belt, and selected an iron one. Before Arissa could protest or think up a comeback, he walked to the mouth of the cave, Ta' trotting after him. He leaned against the cave wall, fingering the small knife while Ta' curled up into a huge ball.

In her sleep, Anasa caught faint glimpses of what she knew was the past. A family of peasents were trying unsuccesfully to make themselves seem groomed. "Now, now," said an old woman to her, "Don't be trying to run off as always." With that, the woman picked up her 8-year-old body and dragged the complaining Anasa into the pond. Then, it was morning, and the entire village had come out to welcome one of the most famous sages in the area. When he passed by her family's house, he stopped and turned, looking Anasa in the eye. "You," he said, "You have that feeling about you. You can use fairy magic, can't you?" Anasa heard herself saying no, she did not, but the man was convinced otherwise. "You MUST become my pupil," he said, "or you will hurt all that you hold dear."
A beam of light fell upon Anasa's face and woke her from her slumber. "Teacher..."she whispered to the air.

She sat up and looked around her. The others were all asleep, but she just couldn't lie down again. She stood up and sighed, pacing around the cavern. That had to be a memory from her past life. She ust...knew it. But, what about Arissa? Where did she fit into all of this? And why did those creatures want to know her teacher's name? And what about that boy who rescued her? Where did he fit in and what was his purpose for being there? He must've gotten caught in the maze, too.
It was all so confusing. Anasa was tempted to wake Arissa up and ask her what the meaning of it all was.

Lan heard Anasa walking around the cave. She must be confused, so he would try to comfort her. He got up and sat down beside where Anasa was sitting, thinking. "I know you're confused, but everything will be clear in time." "By the way, my name's Lan, we never got a chance to meet."
((oh and by the way Lan isn't exactly a man he's 19...well....yea hes existed 2000 someodd years but in reality hes only lived 19 years.))

Lan ran his hand through his hair, which needed a trim. It was getting a bit long. "Are you hungry?" Lan produced something rare, I small chunk of meat from a pouch tied at his waist.
