"Do you know what you speak of boy?" said Liinck. sean took a few minutes and finally answered. "No. I don't. It......I just said it......" "Never speak of it again, Sean. It can be something terrible to know." "But....I don't know anything. It........." "Hunh.........Well, Sean, I guess we'll have to leave you. We have a journey of our own to follow. Keep well watch over your back. I highly doubt the gods will smile another lucky save upon you again if you are in dire consequences. We're off!" with that liinck, zerith, tsiru, and notlimach all stood and bid him farewell, darting off into the night with a small oil lantern as their guide. sean stood in the forest as mist creeped across the ground. "Goodbye..." sean began to decide which direction it would be best to head in. ....... great. he was stranded in the forest. ................. he headed in a random direction, trekking to whatever edge of the forest it would lead him to....hopefully soon. ***

Sean was running through the woods at a fast pace. He wanted to get out badly.
He had never been in woods for longer than he had in these last hours and he didn’t want to stay in them any longer.
He passed through many thickets, bushes, vines, and such as he dashed across dead grey leaves. Soon, it was like a journey with a purpose.
Get through the woods; get on with your life.
Sean could see a light ahead. He knew it was the border of the woods. The last time he had seen a map it had been nearly a year ago, he thought. If he remembered, the woods of Kre’ar were much wound and not that dense if you were headed out. But if you were headed in…They were gruesome travel ground.
He reached the edge of the woods and walked through to find the sky was raging grey and lightning began to clap its thunderous roar. Rain suddenly broke loose of the swirling mass of darkness and deluged the land with a gruesome torrent. Sean grumbled and began to walk through all the rain, spotting a small dark spot far, far, far out into the distance on the horizon. It had to be his newly destroyed village. He couldn’t bear thinking of it so he quickly snapped his head in the direction of the fortress and began a fast trot towards it. He used his memory of the layout guide him and soon enough, he could spot a small grey square in the distance of which was the fortress of Fervarok.
His pace steadily growing, it was becoming a routine.
Step with one foot, step with the other; step with one foot, step with the other.
He hoped to reach it by sunrise.
*****
Sean arrived and soon enough was drawing his aching limbs into the warm comfort of his dirty cot. He pulled the small square sheets of whicker and straw over him though they were hardly anything compared to sheets sewed from cloth. They were horrible to sleep with, but they were all the fortress had.
He looked at the small lamp that threw a warm light across the room and winded down the flame until finally it diminished into a long whip of winding smoke.
Tired, he fell straight to sleep.
…………
***
Dameus, where were you?!
Come soon. There is a very stern matter at hand that you must hear about.
Sleep well, but head straight to the mountain whenever you wake.
Please, hurry.
………………..
Sean woke up to see the sun was setting. He had slept the entire day from what it seemed. He groggily strapped his armor back on, beginning to feel its weight shove him no more, and grabbed his lance which he thought was quite light now.
…
Hmm.
He grumbled on to himself on how he hated his dreams now as they were clogged with the senseless talking of that wyvern. Elasia, if he remembered right. Why couldn’t she just leave him alone? Yes, she was quite interesting as he had never seen a wyvern in his life, only in small books cluttered with pictures that looked rather like bunches of lines stuck on one piece of papyrus, but she didn’t seem to tell him anything so why listen? All in all, he wished she would just let him sleep.
But the entire day he still pondered on what she had said. She had told him to come as soon as possible…But he had already wasted maybe three days of army training. Why would he need to loose any more? He couldn’t risk it for his occupation’s sake.
If it continued too long, he may find himself sent back on the streets. His village was already destroyed and so he had no home or memories to look back upon. He wouldn’t dare walk back to the village’s site as it was now burned to ashes and for all he knew some red cloaks might be prowling the grounds still. He couldn’t bear the site of his dead comrades and family, either. He decided to move to a different thought as the current one would make him want to go back.
After he finished quite a bit of the training that day he ate his lunch, sneaking bacon out of Slice’s barrels and snarfing them down as he hadn’t had any for the past three days, and then moved onto the end day’s practice. He was asked many questions by most of the colleagues about where he was the past few days and why he didn’t show up for practice. He explained it all with a ‘Ask again and I will beat you’ look and they didn’t look back to even speak for a few more days. He waved hello to Slice and Zeth every so often when he saw them and after a long days work he once again went to bed.
………….
***
You didn’t come today…Do not make me wait, I am not afraid to come there.
I know you lied about your destination. You rather took me to your village and then you found it ransacked by the shadowclan. This has to do with what I have to tell you, Dameus. Come.
…
Sean suddenly shoved his mental presence into his dream. He could think while basking in the calm void of sleep.
He then spoke.
Why can’t I just have a normal life? Why can’t you just leave me alone? My village’s fate was cold enough, what more must I lose because of this harsh world?
Just leave me alone. I am nothing special, you won’t even tell me why you call me ‘Dameus’, obviously, there isn’t anything you will tell me, only something you won’t tell me.
Just leave me alone.
…………..
Silence engulfed him as he felt a disapproving emotion from the other half of his mind and finally he fell into the endless dark void of his being, tumbling into the vast loneliness of rest.
***
...............
Sean woke up and repeated the normal routine for days.
His armor was getting lighter by the hour it seemed and his lance was considered a toothpick in his grasp. He felt he was already becoming a good fight for an opponent. He would practice, eat, practice more, take a break, practice once more, eat, and then go to sleep. The voice of Elasia didn’t linger on him inside his dreams now and he was glad of it. He finally could get decent sleep without tossing and turning as this second mind spoke within him. An enormous weight off his shoulders, Sean was once again a great peaceful soul with a hard, set purpose.
Now he didn’t only want to learn to fight and get paid, he wanted revenge. He would kill the red cloaks and maim the ‘shadowclan’ that he had heard of. This was branded on his mind with a harsh, raging purpose.
Revenge.
