He was facinated at the fact that one person was actually emotionally atatched to Arrucard it was at least better than what Travaler had...

"i'm not sure." shay said. "It started in Ranthos, Ivan took him over. Arrucard regain control after a little wile. Then we came here with Storm. ivan took him over agin, and later was somehow relesed. i'm not sure what happened, i was asleep, recovring, during the time. I was there for a few moments, the last...." She trailed off"but the dagger...that hurts him. I will kill Ivan."
